Vera Eddins

We are back in SC again. We got a call Thursday morning that Toms Great aunt was not doing well in the nursing home. She had stopped eating/drinking over a week ago and she was slowly dying. We decided to pack the kiddos and head on the SC for a possible funeral. We visited with her yesterday and I was so proud of the kids cause visiting someone in the nursing home can be pretty scary. Visiting someone who is "just breathing" and does not even know you are there, is even more scary. But we talked to her and told her we loved her. She was sleeping and was very comfortable and looked peaceful. We left before 4pm. Toms mom got the call later that evening that Vera had died in her sleep. We were fortunate to have gotten to see her when we did. If we had waited one more day in order to travel, then it would have been too late. She has recently celebrated her 100th birthday!! What a great life!

We are here in SC all week visiting with family coming in from all over the South East for the funeral. Tom has some great memories of Vera. Please keep his family in your prayers this week.
