What is all the hoop-la about antioxidants, you are saying. I keep hearing over and over about spinach and blueberries being high in antioxidant content, but what does it mean??
In Jonny Bowden’s book The 150 Healthiest Foods on Earth he states…”Certain foods have compounds in them called antioxidants. Oxidation is what happens when you leave a cut apple out in the air. When that happens to your body-as it does every day-it can cause significant damage to your cells and organs. Oxidation is a factor in virtually every degenerative disease. Antioxidants help fight this process. Deficiencies of antioxidants are implicated in the early stages of heart disease, cancer, eye disease, and age-related declines in memory.”
